The Reunion, the six-part drama based on the French best-seller and starring Ioan Gruffudd, will premiere on ITVX in January.
The French Riviera-set series adapted from Guillaume Musso’s bestselling novel “The Reunion” aka “La Jeune Fille et la Nuit,” shot on location in the south of France last summer with an international cast headlined by Gruffudd (Fantastic Four, Liar), Ivanna Sakhno (Pacific Rim Uprising) and Grégory Fitoussi (Peaky Blinders, Spiral), Dervla Kiwan, Vahina Giocante (Ultimate Heist, Mata Hari), Rupert Graves (Sherlock), Shemss Audat (Spiral, Baron Noir), Cosimo Fusco (Friends, Mentalist), and Salóme Gunnarrsdóttir (Pennyworth, Zack Snyder's Justice League).
Directed by Bill Eagles (Fringe, Gotham, Pennyworth), the English-language series is produced by Make It Happen Studio (No Second Chance), co-produced with the European Alliance (France Televisions, RAI, ZDF) and presented by MGM International Television Productions with MGM handling distribution.
Marston Bloom (Selection Day, Marcella) penned the adaptation of Musso’s hit novel, which was originally published in France by Calmann-Lévy in 2018 and in UK by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 2019 has sold more than two million copies worldwide in more than 35 languages. The story opens in the present day, at a high school reunion in the south of France where three former friends reconnect. They grew apart and lost touch, but they are still bound by a tragic secret tied to the disappearance of a high school girl who went missing 25 years ago in the region.
Thomas, receives a mysterious invitation to his school reunion, where he reunites with his friends Max and Fanny. The disappearance of their friend, Vinca, 25 years prior, looms over their lives. Thomas is determined to get to the truth, while simultaneously covering up his past involvement in the body of his teacher, Alexis Clement, being buried in the gym wall; A wall which is due to be demolished imminently to make way for a new media centre.
Episode 2 - Thomas' search for the truth about what happened to Vinca leads to a disturbing discovery, and Max receives an unwanted relic from his past.
Episode 3 - A murder investigation is opened when Fanny's patient dies, and after Francis goes missing, Max finds that everything is at risk.
Episode 4 - With Thomas and Max reeling from their discovery, Annabelle reveals what she has always known, and Thomas turns to Pianelli for help.
Episode 5 - Annabelle confronts Richard, and after a meeting with Fanny, Thomas and Manon both learn something new.
Episode 6 - Lies unravel as the truth about what really happened to Vinca on that fateful night 25 years ago comes out.
